2D illustration style
Basically, all illustrations are developed in 2D (height and width). It is possible to simulate volume by using color shades, but this is not enough considering it is not possible to represent depth variation in the support used for 2D illustrations (paper or Photoshop or Illustrator documents.)
3D Colored Wireframe illustration style
Today, the third dimension (depth) is much easier to represent through illustration designs. To accomplish this, there are graphic tools such as Cinema and 3D Studio which enable designers to create a virtual space in which he can make decisions not only about height and width, but also about depth.
3D Colored Full illustration style
The elements in this picture were designed in 3D, modeling every inch of the design in isolation in order to accomplish the desired effects. Each element has its function in the space, which is specifically defined by the illustrator.
3D Wireframe illustration style
This is another three-dimensional illustration: a 3D model wireframe designed with Cinema. This is the basic structure, the frame, of the fish illustration and the first phase of the complete 3D design
Anime illustration style
The use of flat colors and black outlines are some of the most important characteristics of this type of illustration. Oversized eyes are also a distinguishing characteristic. Movement is represented with lines.
Cartoonish illustration style
The cartoonish style is mainly aimed to a children target. However, more and more cartoons are being aimed to grownups, and their subjects are related to this target audience, which include specific strategies such as sarcasm and the grotesque.
Cartoonish 4 illustration style
This picture depicts the exaggerated features of the character. This kind of design is aimed to an adult target audience. For this reason, the design aesthetic is dark and dirty. This is a hand-made illustration.
Comic illustration style
Comics are the origins of cartoons. They use a series of frames simulating different settings in place and/or time. They generally have humorous or ironic endings. The characters’ faces expressions are very obvious and they are combined with text, which is often in the form of speech balloons or image captions.
Fractal illustration style
This type of artwork is an imitation of fractals. A fractal is a geometric object that appears similar at all scales of magnification. Illustrators use this technique to represent the infinity of certain elements such as clouds and blood vessels.
Iconic illustration style
To create this style, illustrators take the essential features of the morphology of the character or object that is to be illustrated. In the illustration, only those features that make an object what it is are represented.
Realistic illustration style
Realistic illustrations are those illustrations in which reality is represented as faithful as possible. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between an illustration of this type from a photograph.
Surreal illustration style
